about

"The last tour to feature Bruce Geduldig, who would pass away in San Francisco in March 2016 after a long illness. How fitting then that his parting gift was a series of video and spoken word concert interludes around the biography of a mysterious creature called Tapeman, first developed with the FuturePlaces medialab team in Porto, where Bruce lived for a while in 2013-14.

Tapeman was a metaphor for analogue decay and the risks of cultural amnesia, just as it alluded to intimate memories and personal legacies in face of the inevitability of one's demise. Tapeman, the concept and the costume, survives to this day at FuturePlaces as Antifluffy, the medialab's mascot.

The concert presents the band in great form, the classics ageing like a fine wine, decanted into a precise canon not unlike some mutant chamber music. This without sacrificing one inch of their timeless bite. Most fans will agree that their live classic Italian Western never fails to soar; yet here it seems to somehow manage to soar even higher. Blame it on the gentlemen, and blame it on the masterful live mix courtesy of Alessandro Cardellini . The soft landing of KM/Seeding The Clouds ends up acting as both a coda to the gig's main segment and a prelude to the following Half Mute Tour."

Heitor Alvelos, January 2018

Musica magistrale, suonata magistralmente, ispirata magistralmente.

An opportunity to explore in detail variations of the classics beyond their officially released versions: how they evolved, how they were interpreted at different times, how they made use of then-available technology… and then there’s the never-heard-before material. Selected according to sound quality and/or historical relevance, an ever-evolving audio-biographical puzzle spanning 40+ years. ... more
